Get to Know Michelle Clement

Let's Welcome Michelle! Check out the cool storage ideas Michelle uses in her creative space and make sure to comment on this thread for a Giveaway! Michelle hand-picked her favorite things from the store and we are giving YOU a chance to win them! Winner will be picked with a random number generator on March 15th.

Here's a little about our March Guest Designer:

Hiya! My name's Michelle Clement, I'm a 23 year-old animator by day. I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada close to the beach with my also-artsy hubby, Tzanko. I started scrapbooking when I was 12, after taking a beginners class with my mom and sister. In high school, I picked it back up again doing a scrapbook for an English class project, and then over the years it literally became the form of expression for me; it was my artistic getaway when I was going through film school. I graduated from a Classical Animation program with a short film I hand-drew, and now work at a local animation studio using Flash to work on animated television shows. Alongside papercrafting, I also draw, sew, paint, and I love writing and art-journaling, as well. I get to make art all day long and then come home and make some more - I couldn't ask for more!

My main sources of inspiration are Mr. Tim Burton's films, Edward Gorey's books and sketches, the film "The Science of Sleep", home decor magazines, and shiny new crafting supplies or a new stack of pictures. My favorite book is "The Time Travelers Wife", and I admire the work of Sabrina Ward Harrison and Roy Lichtenstein, among many other scrapbookers, photographers, and artists alike. I am a sucker for anything antique, cool indie movies, eighties rock n' roll, and graphic tee-shirts, and I especially love the combination of vintage goodies and bright colors anywhere, but especially on my projects! In my spare time, if I'm not making anything, you can find me going for walks, attending film screenings, animating on a small side project, or hanging with hubby at home watching movies. You can read my daily ramblings here: www.youer-than-you.blogspot.com.

I have one wall devoted to all things scrap, full of vintage bits and baubles, jars of buttons, and a lin to hang my recent projects up on.

Welcome Anabelle!

I'm so excited to announce a new member of the design team! Anabelle is a wonderful designer, an extremely sweet person and I am thrilled to have her aboard!

Meet Anabelle O'Malley

Anabelle was born and raised on Long Island. She attended the University of Delaware and has lived in Delaware most of her adult life.

She lives with her husband Fran and almost five year old son Ryan. They are the center of her life! Before Ryan came along, Anabelle taught elementary school. She now works part time at the University of Delaware while Ryan is in pre-school. She teaches an undergraduate course and works in the registrar's office. She loves being able to be home with Ryan and persue her passion - paper crafting.
Anabelle tried scrapbooking in the late 1990's, but was so wrapped up in teaching that she found she didn't have the time to spend on it that she wanted to. Once Ryan came along, she knew she wanted to start preserving memories and pick up scrapbooking again. She was surprised at how different the craft had become, but was soon addicted and hasn't looked back since! Cardmaking and creating altered items and gifts came along as a natural extension.

In the rare instances that she's not paper crafting in her spare time, Anabelle can be found exercising at the Y, reading cookbooks or baking, persuing volunteer activities or chatting on the phone with friends. However, usually she's unloading the diswasher or folding laundry.

Anabelle's work can be seen in several publications including Memory Makers, Scrapbooks Etc., Paper Crafts, CARDS, Scrapbook Trends and Scrapbook & Cards Today. She currently designs for Paper Salon, Pink Paislee and Queen & Company.
