Prize Drawing #3

Fun Birthday Fact: The tradition of Birthday cards originated in England over 100 year ago. It started as written apologies for not attending a party.

Prize Drawing #3: Prizes will be posted every hour on the hour. Winners will be picked by a random number generator and all winners will be posted at 9PM tonight. For a chance to win each prize, all you have to do is answer the question with a comment on each hourly post. (make sure to leave your comment under each picture of the prize, click on the photo for a larger view)

The next class will be by Jessica at 12pm with another prize drawing!

Here's the third question: Have you ever been surprised on your birthday?

  2. Absolutely! When my friends and I were younger we would do all sorts of fun things to surprise one another on each others birthday. Next week I am turning 30 and am actually hoping there won't be any big surprises! :)

  10. sure - my best surprise was my DH giving me what at the time amounted to my BESTest present ever - a set of Fiskar scissors --- at the time I don't think he realized I thot it'd be so nice as they're Finnish and so am I ... and for giving me my fav snippets for needlepoint purposes. I prefer presents that tell you the person thought of only you rather than, for ex, a dozen roses (which he has does often ... sigh ... and I don't even LIKE roses but he seems to think them the ultimate romantic gesture)!

  16. Never had a surprise party nor do I want one. I don't want to draw attention to my age! My family knows better but my co-workers will not give up on the surprise cake. I think they just want to know my "real" age. I love them all, though, just for thinking of me.

  19. No. No one ever forgets, but no surprises here. I am thankful for that though...I embarrass easily, and I think I wouldn't really enjoy a surprise party, or anything like it.

  22. I have never had a surprise party before, but do remember a fun surprise on my 17th birthday. I was a waitress and had to work that day...at the end of my shift, a table of regular customers presented me with a piece of cake with a candle in it, and a huge teddy bear. They sand happy birthday and then they all helped me do my cleaning and vacuuming. It was a nice surprise, especially since I didn't think they knew it was even my birthday.

  29. YES... I am a nurse and on this day i had been pulled to a different floor and was just getting caught up on my charting when my son walked up to the desk holding a birthday balloon. I was so stunned i couldn't speak then my daughter rounded the corner with a big balloon. Then all of a sudden i realized my kids can't drive, they were only 14 and 9. I said "What are you doing out of school and how did you get here?". At that time my sister and nephew came up to the desk with cake and they all sang Happy birthday. All i could do was cry. My sister had checked the kids out of school and brought them up to surprise me and i certainly was. thanks, ms.cheryl
