Welcome Natalie Hearn

If you've checked out Natalie's blog, Running with Scissors, you've already discovered how talented this lady from Australia is! We are excited to have her with us this month, let's give her a big welcome!

Check out the items Natalie picked from the store as her "Favorite Things". Make sure to leave a comment on this thread for a chance to win them! One winner will be picked by random number generator and announced on December 15th. Don't miss the other giveaway on the Color of the Month thread, also announced on the 15th.

Meet Natalie Hearn:

Hi, my name is Natalie Hearn. I am a primary school teacher, turned SAHM to Noah (3 yrs) and Abigail (10 mths). I have been married to my wonderfully understanding husband for 5 years and we live on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW, Australia.

I have been scrapbooking and cardmaking since my son was born. With two small children, it is sometimes difficult to find the time to dabble, but I try to set aside a few evenings a week for a bit of "me" time. I love that I have found a way to remember the little and big events of my children's lives.

I almost fell out of my chair when Cindy gave me this wonderful opportunity. I am a huge fan of this wonderful site and the design team constantly blows me away!!! Thank you, Cindy!

Noel Epoxy Stickers by Art Warehouse
Fa La La Poinsettia Paper by Making Memories
Fa La La Journaling Stickers by Making Memories
Solid Color Baker's Twine by Martha Stewart Crafts
Petite Sheer Ribbon - 3/8"
Paperie Greenhouse Blossoms & Buttons by Making Memories

Instructions:

1. Paint a thin strip of white around the bottom of the jar.
2. Apply Epoxy Trees.
3. Add snowflakes (Lisa simply used a small paint brush and brushed Elmer's glue over the white paint and then sprinkled snowflakes onto the glue.)
4. Fill jar with hot cocoa mix almost to the top and add mini marshmallows.
5. Tie ribbon around the top and add button and tag.

Hot Cocoa Mix Recipe

1/3 Cup brown sugar
3/4 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 Cup cocoa
2 1/2 Cup Powdered Milk

Combine and blend ingredients in a small bowl. Store in airtight container. Put a tag on the jar with directions how to make: "Mix 3 Tablespoons of the hot chocolate mix with 1 cup of warm milk and stir until smooth."

Spa Sea Salt Scrub Recipe (www.recipezaar.com)

2 Cups Sea Salt
1 1/3 Cups Aloe Vera Baby Oil or Soya Oil
8 Vitamin E Capsules
2 Tablespoons Honey

1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well; spoon in jar.
2. Add a bit to your hand or a bath mitt and rub all over.
3. Rinse off well.

Tip from Anabelle: I halved the recipe and still had a bit left over. Also, I added some Castile soap to make it into a foaming scrub. You can cut down on the baby oil if you do this. To make your own scent, use the soybean oil and add a few drops of essential oils. Play around with it to find the consistency you like. Tie a bath 'pouf' to the top of the jar and place in the gift bag.
