Simple Stories Spotlight by Sherry Wright

by Sherry Wright

Supplies:

Wooden skewers

Instructions:

1. Recycle a cardboard box for album front. Cut 5X7 and distress by pulling off front to expose ribbing. Cut a 5x7 piece of red dot paper, distress edges with paint and adhere to front. Adhere blue banner journaling element over that. Cut "Happy Birthday" from pattern paper and adhere to right side. Adhere transparency "1234" to left side and balloon stickers to top (adhere with 3d dots) to add dimension.
2. Run 2 wooden skewers through ribbon on album front and adhere banner and balloons as seen. Hot glue twine coming from balloon for string.
3. For all page scut to 5x7 unless otherwise noted. For pages 1&2 cut pages from pattern paper. Use journaling element adhered vertically (so front shows on cover "celebrate") and add photo. Adhere month of birth under photo and add stickers for day and year. Layer elements for page 2. Add journaling element with "Wish" sticking out past paper so it can be seen from the front. Add photo and stickers.
4. For page 3 add journaling element vertically again so "happy" shows from the front. Add photo and stickers to indicate what birthday was celebrated. Add journaling element between pages for journaling.
5. On back of journaling card add another photo from first birthday. Next add kraft bag (to add extra photos) and add sticker for decorations.
6. On back of envelope add pattern paper, photo, and indicate next birthday (2). Add another journaling card to tell about birthday number 2 before next page.
7. Cut next page, add paper, and more photos from the second birthday. Embellish with stickers.
8. Continue this process for each birthday. Add a page or two of photos embellished with stickers as shown. Be sure to add a journaling card to tell about the day and kraft bag to add any extras.
9. If you buy the kit you'll have plenty of goodies left over and can continue to add as the years go on... as I plan to do.
10. Once finished punch through each page and run a jump ring through. Add ribbon to cover ring.
