Class by Anabelle & Prize Drawing #6

Here's some fun facts about Birthdays from Anabelle:

What is your favorite birthday cake? I love all kinds of cake. But, anything with chocolate and peanut butter would have to be my favorite!

What was your most memorable birthday? There have been a few birthdays that have stood out. I think my 38th birthday is probably one that I'll always remember. I was five days away from having my son, so I was as big as can be. My parents, husband and mother in law took me to dinner at my favorite restaurant. It was a really fun night and definitely the best "Birthday" gift I ever received! My birthday now is definitely overshadowed by his ;) No more big family dinners for me. It's all about his party. But, I wouldn't have it any other way!

Do you like surprises? I love surprises! But, I've never had a surprise party for me before.

How do you like to celebrate? With friends and family! Give me a great margarita, warm chips and salsa, lots of laughter and the people I love, and I'm a happy girl!

What is your favorite childhood birthday memory?
Every year my mother would make me a great cake. She was always experimenting with different shapes and sizes. One year, she made a castle complete with green coconut grass, Peeps and jelly beans. (my birthday is often right around Easter) Those cakes were really special!

Anabelle created her class using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and Screens (click on photos for larger views)........Create something fun!

Tattered Angels Class by Anabelle O'Malley

Anabelle says: Tattered Angels puts out so many wonderful products. I thought I'd share a few projects using products that Emma's carries. This first card uses Glimmer Mist and Glimmer Chips.
Supplies you will need for Thanks Card:
Glimmer Screens Fanciful Stencils by Tattered Angels
Loverly Cider Stripe Paper by GCD Studios
Fawnd of You Too In Love Pattern Paper by Sassafras Lass
Vintage Journal Bits Kraft Cardstock Stickers by Hambly Screen Prints
Ambrosia Chip Sticker Shapes by Basic Grey
Ambrosia Rind Paper by Basic Grey
Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist 2oz. by Tattered Angels
Creme de Cocoa Glimmer Chips Nature by Tattered Angels
Sweet Branch Rub-Ons by Crate Paper

Instructions for Thanks Card:

1. Spray the Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist onto the white paper using a Glimmer Screen as a mask.

2. Add the striped paper and decorative edged paper as a border.

3. Coat the leaf shaped Glimmer Chips with adhesive. (I used Mod Podge) Sprinkle with clear glitter then spritz with Glimmer Mists. Adhere to the card front.

4. Add the jewels, kraft journaling spot, rub-ons and chipboard flower.
Supplies you will need for Butterfly Box:
Creme de Rouge Glimmer Mist 2oz. by Tattered Angels
Rectangular Tin with Hinged Window Cover
Creme de Cocoa Glimmer Chips Nature by Tattered Angels
Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist 2oz. by Tattered Angels
Cardmaking Clear Acrylic Stamps by Making Memories - This has been reordered
Ambrosia Rind Paper by Basic Grey
24 Vial Glitter Multi-Pack by Martha Stewart Crafts - This will be back in stock around Mid-March, we currently have the Martha Stewart single colors in stock and the 3-Vial sets by Melissa Frances

Instructions for Butterfly Box:

1. To create the butterfly, pour a few drops of Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist into a cup of water. Use a brush to paint it onto the Glimmer Chip. It will create a light colored background. Once dried, spritz the center of the butterfly with the Glimmer Mist. It will be darker in color leaving you with a mottled look on the butterfly.
2. Paint the edges of the butterfly with Mod Podge. Add glitter.

3. Spritz a cream colored flower with Rouge Glimmer Mist. Cut in half and add to butterfly. Add chipboard flower and rhinestones.
4. Spritz paper with Glimmer mist and stamp tag. Cut out, ink and add to window tin that has been tied with tulle.
Anabelle says: I saved my favorite project for last! This card has a background that was created with a Glimmer Screen and glitter.
Supplies you will need for Way to Go Card:
Creme de Rouge Glimmer Mist 2oz. by Tattered Angels
Glimmer Screens Fanciful Stencils by Tattered Angels
Inspired Grace Paper by Webster's Pages
Ivory Bouquet Flowers by Prima - Will be reordering
Sweet Branch Rub-Ons by Crate Paper

Instructions for Way to Go Card:

1. Place Glimmer Screen onto cardstock. Use a foam brush to paint Mod Podge onto the paper. Remove screen and wash immediately.
2. Sprinkle with Glitter. Once dried, spray with a fixative to set the glitter. Cut to fit card front.

3. Spray flowers with Rouge Glimmer Mist.

4. Cut flourish from paper and adhere to card. Add paper strip along bottom. Add flowers and sentiment rub-on.

Anabelle Notes: As you can see, there are so many great things you can do with the Tattered Angels projects. I hope these ideas give you a starting point. Happy Creating!!

Fun Birthday Fact: The most common birthday is October 5th.....due to celebrating on New Years Eve, it's believed.

Prize Drawing #6: Prizes will be posted every hour on the hour. Winners will be picked by a random number generator and all winners will be posted at 9PM tonight. For a chance to win each prize, all you have to do is answer the question with a comment on each hourly post. Wow, what wonderful tutorials! Thank you so much? I will definitely try these out.

Famous person I'd like to meet. That would have to be Princess Diana. I was such a big fan of hers and I still can't believe she died so young. Of course, since that means I'd have to die on my birthday, maybe I should name someone who's alive. That would be George and Laura Bush.
