I just had my birthday a couple of days ago....and celebrated it with all my family...we have a huge family! Lots of decorating for the party, cooking, baking, eating, laughing, family stories and memories. It was perfect....especially the laughing and storytelling part!

Well, ideally I'd love to spend it some place tropical, but I happily settle for spending it at home with my family!

I am for staying at home with family. The party lasts longer for me by celebrating this way.

Some of my most fun birthdays have involved airplane trips to fun destinations, but I'm pretty easy and am OK with about anything except making my own dinner.

Melanie said...

I celebrate with family - either dinner out, or dinner home, but always cake from my favorite bakery - and I've started choosing outrageous artwork for the cake. :)

I love to celebrate my birthday by taking the day off work, not doing any housework, playing in my crafty room or maybe going to the zoo, allowing myself to have lots of yummy treats throughout the day, then going out to eat for dinner. Ahhhh...pure bliss!

Hi !! we always order in pizza and have home made cake and snuggle and open gifts with the kids !

It has often happened in my life that I was away on a trip for my birthday, as I have it in August and we have holidays then. This is indeed a relaxing way to spend a birthday!

I love being home and so it is a birthday treat when my family can all be together and just enjoy the day.

We stay home and the birthday boy or girl gets to pick their entire meal and dessert. Then it's time for presents!

We used to go on trips for my birthday. Now, that we have a son, we hang out around the house and go out for a nice dinner.

Well for the past 2 yrs. my group of friends help celebrate each others birthdays.. We each became a Bday fairy and send goodies to the Bday gal (we all live in different states) and the celebration begins the week of that person's birthday and they open a little gift each day.. IT REALLY is awesome not only when its your bday but when we hear about the fun that bday gal is having so we celebrate bdays all year long! :)

Zarah said...

I love to go away and DO something. Instead of gifts, we try to take a trip. Preferably together with family. :D

My FAVORITE way to celebrate my birthday is having a little game night at home. I do it almost every year, my friends will visit from out of town. We will play more kid oriented games until they go to bed and then pull out ones with more strategy. We have pizza, cake, and lots of laughs.

My birthday is usually celebrated w/ Mothers Day. My family takes me to several local nurseries to plant/flower shop, then we eat at a Mexican restaurant and I get a big ol' Margaritta! Heaven!

Well, with a Dec. 22nd birthday, everyone is always so busy that we just go out to dinner. This year, however, we went away for three days - it was a huge milestone birthday.....It was nice to get away, but still lots to do when we got back! I should celebrate in June!

My favorite way to celebrate is with my family at home, but because of the size and conflicting schedules, it usually take at least a week to get all the celebrating with everyone. I don't mind!

We usually go out with all the family, some hiking, or a mall-visit, a meal together somewhere. The kids love those days.
Evening before it starts with cake of course.

I am one of the strange people who doesn't mind working on her birthday. I get to do what I love, go out to lunch with friends, have a cake with a group of people and then go home to celebrate with my family. It's the best of both worlds.

Though I love a great night out as much as the next girl, with four kids now, staying home to celebrate with them is what I prefer. Always so special to receive the handmade gifts they've made for me. Thanks again for a chance to win!

I celebrate with my DH, children and Grandkids. They usually have my favorite cake and sing Happy Birthday to me. My 5 yr. old Grandson is a big fan of cake and he doesn't care if he gets a gift, just sing and eat cake. LOL

We've developed a family tradition where the birthday person gets to select their restaurant of choice on the actual day of the birthday; then we've often celebrated with extended family on the weekend.

Thanx for the inspiration and blog candy opp!
